Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Hook up the microphone and speakers to your computer. If you have a complete headset, simply plug it in.

  2. Step 2

Start a Yahoo Messenger instant message chat with the person you'd like to call.
Select the "Call" button on the instant message window. You can also click the person's user name in your "Friends" list and select "Call" in that window.

  3. Step 3

Wait for your friend to accept the "call" invitation. Once they accept your call, you'll be able to talk in real time as if you were on a telephone.

  4. Step 4

To make calls from Yahoo Messenger to mobile phones or landlines, sign up for Yahoo's Voice Phone Out service. You will be charged per minute for this service.

  5. Step 5

To receive calls from mobile phones or landlines on your Yahoo Messenger, sign up for Yahoo's Voice Phone In service to get a telephone number. You will be charged per minute for this service.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure your computer is in a quite area where you can clearly hear the other person. Make lost distance and international calls through Yahoo Messenger to save money.
  • Dial-up Internet connections may not be fast enough to handle PC to PC calls. Emergency service numbers like 911 are not accessible through Yahoo Messenger.
