Press the "On" button on the game. Select the number of contestants who will be playing. You can play by yourself, you and another player can play against a computer-operated third contestant, or three different players can play against each other.

Use the directional arrows on the game to choose your six categories. Once you have chosen your category, use the buttons to select the dollar amount. The screen will then display the "answer" and it is time to buzz in.

    • 3

Press your player button if you think you know the question that the answer is prompting. The hand-held game differs from the television version in that players are offered multiple choices. Flip through the accompanying booklet to find the number of the question being asked and the three answer choices. Type either "A," "B" or "C" depending on your choice. (Some models place the three answer choices directly on the screen.) If none of the players wants to take the risk, press the "Pass" button to learn the proper response and for no money to be lost.

    • 4

Double your bet when you find one of the three "Daily Double" questions. Just like in actual "Jeopardy," there is one Daily Double hidden in the first round and two in the second. If you find the Daily Double, you have the choice of betting more than the figure represented by the dollar amount. Use the directional arrows to establish how much you want to bet.

At the end of "Double Jeopardy," you can take part in "Final Jeopardy" if you've won more money than you've lost. Each Final Jeopardy player can secretly enter how much money he wants to wager. When the question is revealed, each contestant has 30 seconds to enter a response. The winner of the game is whoever finishes with the highest money total.
