How to Measure Touring Cross-Country Skis

  1. Step 1

Raise one of your arms straight up over your head.

  2. Step 2

Have someone hold a ski parallel to you. The bottom of the ski should be on the floor.

  3. Step 3

Look at where the tip of the ski ends next to your outstretched arm. Touring cross-country skis are the right size if the tip ends at your wrist.

  4. Step 4

Hold a ski pole on the ground. It will be the right size if the top of the pole ends at your armpit with the bottom of the pole on the floor.
