How to Clean a Wintec Saddle

Wintec produces a variety of synthetic saddles, from English dressage saddles to jumping, racing and western saddles. Cleaning these saddles is easier than cleaning leather saddles. You can often simply wipe Wintec saddles down with a clean, damp cloth. When sweat and grime accumulate, you will need to give the saddle a more thorough cleaning. You can use a mild soap and warm water, but for the best results, clean your Wintec saddle with a synthetic saddle cleaner.

Instructions

    • 1

Brush dirt off synthetic leather and suede areas with a soft brush or towel.

    • 2

Apply saddle cleaner made for synthetic saddles. Spray a generous amount of the cleaner over the whole saddle. Let it sit briefly.

    • 3

Rub the cleaner over any stained areas first, then apply more cleaner. Work on other areas of the saddle while the stained areas sit. Use circular movements to rub the saddle.

    • 4

Brush problem areas again with a soft brush (such as a suede brush). Rub the spots with a damp towel until you remove the stains.

    • 5

Rinse the saddle with water until no cleaning residue remains. Buff the saddle with a towel and allow it to dry completely.

Tips & Warnings

  • Wipe off your saddle before and after every ride to remove excess dirt and sweat.

  • Clean the upper parts of the saddle first. If dirty cleaner drips down, wipe it off when you clean the lower parts.

  • Only use a gentle soap and water mix, or a synthetic saddle cleaner, to clean Wintec saddles; harsh cleaners may discolor the saddle.
