Instructions

    • 1

Seal any openings in the plastic planter with plumber's putty. Let the putty dry. This will make your plastic planter water tight.

    • 2

Dig a hole to fit your plastic planter on the spot where you plan to place your fountain. Your planter should be at least 15 inches wide and at least 12 to 14 inches deep. This is the reservoir for your fountain and should be buried completely to the top of its rim. Fit the planter in the hole. For a larger pond fountain, use a pond liner in place of the plastic planter.

    • 3

Arrange the faux rocks for your fountain as close together as possible around the perimeter edge of the reservoir. Secure the faux rocks to each other with waterproof adhesive. Liquid Nail works well for this project.

    • 4

Read and follow the manufacturer's operating instructions for the fountain pump. Place the pump in the planter and run the electrical cord under the faux rocks. Bury the electrical cord so that it is not visible around your fountain.

    • 5

Fill the reservoir with water and turn on the fountain. Make any necessary adjustments to the fountain spray.

Tips & Warnings

  • Add lighting to your faux rock fountain so you can enjoy it at night. Purchase a solar fountain pump to eliminate the electrical cord as well as the added electricity usage.

  • Make sure there are no utility lines before digging the hole in your yard or garden.
