Instructions

  1. Drawing a Sprinkler System

    • 1
Draw a line with a rectangle.

Using a straight edge or ruler, draw a line with a small gap, horizontally across the page. Also draw a rectangle without a bottom edge in the small gap and connect it to the original straight line.

    • 2
Draw a line with vertical notches.

Draw a horizontal line parallel to the first, with six vertical notches coming out of it, marking the pipelines.

    • 3
Draw vertical lines, pointing toward the top center of the page.

Draw a vertical line connecting the two horizontal lines, as seen in the diagram, and vertical lines from the notches. Angle the lines so they go slightly inward, pointing toward the top and center of the page.

    • 4
Draw the water meter, backflow device and sprinkler shut-off valve.

Draw the water meter, backflow device and sprinkler shut-off valve. Add the joints to the piping as well. Use the image as a guide.

    • 5
Draw the valve box and rotors.

Draw the valve box and rotors along the vertical pipeline farthest to your left. The valve box looks roughly like a wide cylinder with a knob on top, while the rotors are skinnier cylinders with higher cylinders on top.

    • 6
      Impact sprays and spray heads.

Sketch out the impact sprays and spray heads to the right of the rotors. Also, draw a valve box at the base.

    • 7
      Drip line and emitters.

To the right of the spray heads, draw the drip line on one pipeline and the emitters on the next one. The drip line merely has a couple of small dots indicating where water comes out, whereas the emitters look more like a spider.

    • 8
      Bubblers.

Draw the bubblers, following the image as a guide. The bubblers look like a vertical pipe with a small, round tire-shape on top.

    • 9
      Controller and attached wiring.

Draw the controller and attached wiring, which weaves along the second horizontal line that was drawn in Step 2.
