How to Verify a Change of Address With the IRS
Moving always comes with its own unique set of hassles, from packing and unpacking to making sure that all of your mail gets forwarded and your banks, credit cards and magazine subscriptions have your new address. When you move to a new residence, it is also important that this change of address be sent to the IRS. You may only think about the IRS once a year, but you can save yourself a hassle later on by taking care of the change of address issue now.
