How to Give a Good Psychic Reading
Clients who visit a psychic for a reading are often in a vulnerable position. They may be having relationship problems, or perhaps they've lost a loved one. They want to know what the future holds, and whether they will somehow make it through a rough situation. A good psychic balances compassion with honesty, resisting the urge to simply tell a client what she wants to hear. The psychic must focus the reading on what he sees and deliver this information to the client in a gentle way, as well as helping her to see the role that free will plays in life.

Make sure you are in the best possible position to give an accurate reading. If you are stressed, anxious or burned out, you will not be able to tune into your client and pick up information. Do a calming or cleansing ritual, or spend some time meditating before giving readings, if your own feelings might interfere with using your gift.

2
Don't make false or exaggerated promises. As an honest psychic, you know that you cannot give lottery numbers at will or compel a lover to return to your client. Desperate clients may ask for these services, so be realistic in letting them know what they can and cannot expect from your reading. Also, do not claim that you are 100 percent accurate. According to psychic Cassandra Anaya, this claim is unrealistic because free will always affects the future, so circumstances can change at any time.

If you are using a certain method to conduct the reading, explain the method to your client. For example, if you are using tarot cards, playing cards, rune stones or some other object, explain how that method acts as an intermediary to reveal information. If you speak to angels or other spirit guides, let the client know about that method, too.

Ask the client what he specifically wants to know or gain from the reading. Having this knowledge allows you to focus all your energy on finding that specific information. A focused reading that answers the client's specific questions is more beneficial than a scattered reading which superficially covers a number of topics. A good psychic reading provides specific information.

During the reading, if something isn't clear or if you're just not picking up information on the requested topic, psychic Cassandra Anaya says you should be honest and tell the client. No one performs a job perfectly 100 percent of the time. Better to stop a reading that just isn't working, rather than trying to force the situation and coming up with inaccurate information.

Tips & Warnings
A good psychic draws boundaries on the types of information she will reveal to clients. Many psychics refuse to discuss certain topics, such as whether a client will get pregnant or when someone will die. Decide on your own boundaries, and let your clients know up front which topics are off-limits.
If a client tries to play "Test the Psychic" at the beginning of the session---with questions such as, "What did I have for dinner yesterday?"---try to redirect him by explaining that you will show your accuracy during the reading rather than wasting time on a test. If he still insists on testing you, end the reading, because it's likely that you will not be able to please that kind of client.
