Tank scooters are an incredibly popular brand of scooter worldwide. Made in China, these affordable and well made scooters have become the urban ride of choice for many. While similar to a motorcycle in many aspects, scooters have some small differences. The placement of the mirrors on a scooter is just one example of how scooters are different. Knowing how to setup mirrors on your Tank scooter a necessary skill to learn in order to have the safest scooter ride possible. Placed closer in to the center of the body then on a motorcycle, the setup of mirrors on a scooter is easy to adjust.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Small Crescent Wrench
  1. Step 1

Balance your scooter on its center stand so it sits upright.

  2. Step 2

Sit on the scooter and hold the handlebars just as you would if you were about to ride down the street. Look into the mirror on the handles on your left and right. You should be able to see behind and to the side of you. If you imagine you are on a two lane road, you should be able to see into the other lane of traffic. Make a mental note of how the mirror needs to be moved to have the best view.

  3. Step 3

Use the crescent wrench to loosen the nut at the base of the mirror stem where is is inserted into the body of your Tank scooter. Turn the mirror by the stem until you can clearly see behind you. Hold the stem in place and re-tighten the nut. Repeat this step for the other side.

  4. Step 4

Check your mirrors again. Fine tune the setup of your mirrors by grabbing the frame of the mirror with one hand and pushing or pulling the mirror into the correct position. Check the mirrors once more and you are done.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can replace the stock mirrors that came with your Tank scooter with a number of different kinds including some which have extended stems or double stems to allow you an even better view of the road around and behind you.
  • Mirrors that are not setup correctly will prevent you from seeing the road and the hazards on it correctly, you could also be found at fault in an accident if your mirrors are missing or inadequate to driving.
