Instructions

    • 1

Choose different widths of ribbon. Select all one color, or several shades in the same color family. Choose rickrack and embellished trim for the bottom of the lampshade. Position the pieces of ribbon around the lampshade to determine the look you want. Once you determine what pattern you like, lay your ribbon aside in the order you will place it on the lampshade.

    • 2

Measure around the lampshade with a tape measure. Measure the areas where you want the ribbon, starting from the bottom and working up; add 1 inch to each measurement.

    • 3

Cut each ribbon to fit on the lampshade. Glue each piece of ribbon around the lampshade, starting near the bottom and working up; overlap the extra 1 inch and glue in place. Once all the ribbons are glued in place, let the glue dry.

If desired, add embellished trim around the bottom of the lampshade. Turn the lampshade upside down and measure around the bottom on the inside; add 1 inch to your measurement. Cut the trim to fit this measurement. Glue the trim to the inside of the bottom edge; let dry. Attach the lampshade to your lamp.
