ID3 files are not a type of music file. Instead, they are a file format that embeds information into mp3 files. ID3 tags will usually contain the artist's name, the name of the album, and the name of the track. Some versions will also contain who encoded the file, artwork and more. In some cases, specific ID3 file versions may not be readable by some media players, requiring their conversion.
