How to Make Greeting Cards Using Wax
A unique and creative alternative to making handmade greeting cards is to use wax. Wax is an easy medium to work with and allows you to create a unique card every time. What's more, it is cost effective.
Things You'll Need
- Card stock
- Rubber stamps
- Wax candle
- Match or lighter
- Tooth pick, wooden dowel or any other tool for shaping wax
- Scrapbook embellishments

Cut your card stock to the desired dimensions for the greeting card you want to create. I recommend using a paper cutter, but scissors and a steady hand will work as well. Fold the card stock in half to make a card.

Decorate your greeting card with scrapbooking materials as you normally would. Some ideas are stamping, adding borders, writing text and adding photos. Save adding sticker embellishments until later.

Light the candle and wait until it begins to melt. Carefully allow the wax to drip onto the card. You can use as much or as little wax as you want. You might even want to experiment by mixing colors.

Shape the wax using a tool of your choice. Some ideas include toothpicks, wooden dowels, plastic forks and paint brushes. Wax cools quickly, so you will need to be quick with this step.

Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until your card reaches the desired look. Add additional scrapbook embellishments as desired.

Tips & Warnings
Using rubber stamps, imprint designs into the wax. Use clear wax on the top of stickers for an interesting effect.
