How to Use iTrip for iPod
The iPod FM transmitter allows you to wirelessly play your iPod's music through the radio in your car. The device plugs into your iPod and then transmits a signal to an FM radio frequency. It overrides the transmission on that bandwidth and plays music from the iPod. The small, lightweight iTrip plugs into the iPod through the earphone jack and is completely wireless, drawing power from the iPod itself, so you can say goodbye to that old cassette adapter.

1
Insert the CD that ships with the iTrip into your computer to run the setup program. It will automatically copy files to iTunes for Mac, or MusicMatch for PC.
-
2
Plug your iPod into the computer via USB or Firewire cable. ITunes or MusicMatch will sync your iPod with the new iTrip files.
-
-
3
Look in the "Griffin Technology" folder that is now on your iPod to choose from the available radio frequencies to use. The available frequencies range from 88.1 to 107.9 MHz.
-
4
Use trial and error to find an FM frequency that works best. It may be easiest to find a signal you want to use on your radio first. Then make a note of the frequency and find it on the iPod. The iTrip's signal may not be strong enough to override very strong radio stations so choose a frequency with a weaker transmission, even one that is just fuzz on your radio.
-
5
Press "Play" on the iPod when you have selected a frequency. The LED light on the iTrip will blink rapidly.
-
6
Press "Play" a second time and the LED will blink slowly. The frequency is now set.
-
7
Play the iPod as you normally would. The sound will now come through the radio.
