How to Delete Spybot Search & Destroy TeaTimer
Spyware or malware is a serious problem for computer users who surf and download files from the Internet. One of the best programs to scan and remove spyware and malware is Spybot Search and Destroy, However, one of the options during the installation of the program is a resident utility called TeaTimer. This is an addition to the program that detects and warns the user of changes that are being made to the Windows registry. Deleting this addition after the program has been installed can be done following a few easy steps.

Go to "Add/Remove Programs" in the Control Panel and remove "Spybot -- Search and Destroy." Run the setup program again and uncheck the option for TeaTimer during the installation process.

Use the System Configuration Utility to disable the service from running and loading during startup. Click the "Start" button and select "Run." Type "msconfig" (no quotes) and press "OK." Entries for the program can be found in the "Services and Startup" tabs. Uncheck and item and click "Apply" to save the change.

Use third party software to prevent services from running or being loaded on the system during startup. A good program to use to monitor startup programs in WinPatrol. The program is free to use and will display a warning when a new startup program is detected.

Turn off the TeaTimer service. Go to "Administrative Tools" in the Control Panel and select "Services." Scroll down and look for either "TeaTimer" or "Spybot" as a listed service. Double-click on the entry and change the startup type from "Manual" or "Automatic" to "Disabled."

Disable TeaTimer from the Spybot -- Search and Destroy program. Open the program and change the mode to "Advanced." Click on the "Tools" option on the left and then select "Resident." Uncheck the option for TeaTimer, acknowledge any prompts and restart the computer.
