Step 1
Find a medically supervised program to detox quickly from opiate addiction. One well-known program is the Waismann Method. This method is performed at an accredited hospital and can help a person detox quickly without having to suffer through withdrawal symptoms for a lengthy period of time.
-
Step 2
Sign up for a consultation with one of the addiction specialists at a Waismann Method clinic. The consultant will take your medical and addiction history as well as walk you through the rapid detox process. You will be given an EKG and chest X-ray and have blood work done to determine your current health.
-
Step 3
Go to the selected facility to start your rapid detox via the Waismann Method. You will be placed under light anesthesia to allow you to sleep while going through detox. You will be hospitalized for a period of 24 hours.
-
Step 4
Allow the physicians to give you specially formulated medications, like Naltrexone, to help flush the opiates from your system. During this period, you will be under anesthesia and will not experience severe withdrawal symptoms, like nausea, tremors and hallucinations.
-
Step 5
Go through an assessment after you have completed the rapid opiate detox program. If the doctors determine that you are physically and psychologically in good condition, you will be released. As a part of your aftercare treatment, you may be given a prescription for Naltrexone.
