How to Use a LightScribe Drive
-
1
Click on the Start menu in Windows and find LightScribe Direct Disc Labeling. Place the cursor over these words and a pop-up menu will appear. Click on Express Labeler. A warning will appear informing you that paper labels can cause some discs to become unreadable. Ignore this warning and click on OK.
-
2
Choose to print a disc label, a disc case, or a jewel case. Click on Options and you should be presented with the default choice of a 12-cm-disc for a CD label. If not, then find this on the drop-down menu and choose it.

3
Click on Disc Title and a window will pop up, prompting you to name the disc and give it a subtitle if you choose. You will also have the choice of font, font style and font size. Click OK. Click on Tracks and a window will appear in which you can enter the name of the track, as well as the artist and the length of the song, if you choose.
-
4
Click on Layout to choose where on the CD you want to place the information. Then click on Background to print an image onto the disc. Some images come with the LightScribe program, but you have the option of choosing any image file on your hard drive. Just be aware that the LightScribe CD will only print in black, so some color images might not turn out too well.
-
5
Place the special LightScribe CD into the CD drive with the front side facing down. This side will be golden-brown in color as opposed to the traditional silver of the flip side. If you make a mistake and place a LightScribe CD into the drive incorrectly, don't worry. The program will give you an error message and instruct you to insert it properly.
