1
Prepare yourself. Canceling your Truecredit membership is a simple process, but may require a bit of negotiating with the customer service representative. Have any information on your account --including your customer number, the date of last payment and the credit card you used to pay--at the ready.
-
2
Make the call. Dial 800-493-2392 to be connected to a customer service representative who can cancel your account. Truecredit's business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. (Monday through Thursday) and 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Friday to Saturday) EST.

3
Request a cancellation. State plainly that you would like to cancel your account and ask what information the representative will need in order to do so. Don't give any explanation as to why you're canceling, even if they ask.
-
4
Stand your ground. The representative is paid to keep you as a customer. They may offer a free month of service or attempt to frighten you into remaining a customer. Rather than becoming upset or offended, calmly state, "That's alright, thank you. Please cancel my account."
-
5
Request a supervisor. In the rare event that the representative refuses to cancel your account, calmly request to speak to a supervisor. Make the request clearly and succinctly as many times as necessary.
-
6
Thank the representative. Once they have canceled your Truecredit account, thank the representative for their help. Afterward, confirm the details of your conversation, including their name, the cancellation confirmation number and whether or not there will be further charges to your credit card.
-
7
Follow up. Watch your credit card for the next 60 days to ensure Truecredit does not bill you. While it is a reputable company, even the best corporations make billing errors.
