How to Create an Eyebrow Stencil
Eyebrows are essentially frames for your face so their shape is extremely important. Whether the shape is curved or angled, eyebrows are known for their ability to either soften or harden certain facial features. Many people in the beauty industry consider perfectly groomed and arched eyebrows as essential to good looks as a clear complexion and healthy head of hair. If you want to have groomed eyebrows but don't want to pay weekly visits to the salon, creating your own eyebrow stencil is the right choice. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Cut out a piece of paper 1" high and 2" wide. Trace this onto the transparent sheet of plastic with a Sharpie. Using the X-acto knife, cut it out. This is the basic frame of your eyebrow stencil.

2
Choose a shape for your eyebrow stencil. There are a few basic shapes to choose from: round, angled, curved and flat. A round shape is a symmetric curve that is known to soften features. An angled shape has a slight peak at the middle of the eyebrow that gives a youthful appearance. A curved shape has a slight dip in the front of the eyebrow then a soft peak near the middle before tapering out. A flat shape is essentially a horizontal line known to work well on long faces.

Draw the shape onto the frame of the eyebrow stencil with the Sharpie. You can make it as thick or as thin as you like. The thickness depends largely on your personal preference for your eyebrows.

4
Using the X-acto knife, carefully cut out the eyebrow shape you just drew in step 3 and discard it. You will be left with an eyebrow stencil in that shape to be used repeatedly.

5
Make a few more eyebrow stencils in a variety of shapes for future use, or when you want to change your eyebrow shape.

Tips & Warnings
* To use the eyebrow stencil, hold it up against the natural curve of your eyebrow so that the majority of eyebrow is inside the shape you cut out. Using tweezers, shape your eyebrow by removing the stray hairs that fall just outside the range of the stencil. Using an eyebrow pencil or shadow, shade in any sparse areas to give your eyebrows the distinct shape of the stencil.
Use extreme caution when working with the X-acto knife, as it is very sharp.
