Wish necklaces are a fashionable way of wearing your dreams on your sleeve---or in this case, on your neck. These simple necklaces are elegant yet understated, and can be worn dressed up or dressed down. Perfect as a gift for others or even yourself, a fully customizable wish necklace encourages the wearer to make a wish and believe that it will come true.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Silk thread
  • Small charm
  • Scissors
  • Spring ring necklace closure set
  1. Step 1

Cut a strand of the silk thread to 18 to 20 inches long. Keep in mind when choosing the thread that wish necklaces are worn daily, so choose a color of thread that will coordinate nicely with a typical daily wardrobe.

  2. Step 2

Slide your chosen small charm onto the strand of silk thread. Make sure that the small charm is something meaningful and representative of making a wish.

  3. Step 3

Attach the spring ring necklace closure by tying the two closure pieces to the two ends of the silk thread strand.

  4. Step 4

Place the finished wish necklace around your neck, close your eyes and make a wish.

  5. Step 5

Wear the wish necklace faithfully every day in honor of the wish you made. Over time the silk thread will wear down and eventually break---when that happens, it is said that your wish will come true.

Tips & Warnings
  • Wish necklaces make great gifts. If you opt to give a wish necklace as a gift, make sure to include a note explaining the meaning and usage of a wish necklace. After your wish necklace wears off, you can put the charm onto a chain necklace if you desire.
