Track and field uniforms are a big part of the high school and college experience for many student athletes. Uniforms help promote team spirit and provide comfortable, light athletic clothing.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Drawing pad
  • Markers
  • White jerseys (tops and bottoms)
  • Fabric markers
  1. Step 1

Outline the front and back of a track uniform (both top and bottom). The jersey should be sleeveless, and the shorts, very short.

  2. Step 2

Make several copies of your templates. Take a look at previous team jerseys. What are the team's colors and logo? What fonts are used? Stay true to the school's style.

  3. Step 3

Experiment with basic designs. Most track jerseys are simple, with a solid base color. A second color usually appears in lines and shapes on the jersey. Use markers to color the design on your template.

  4. Step 4

Try various secondary color designs. Experiment with lines running up the sides of the jersey, or around the arms and shoulders. Include the school insignia, logo or name on the front of the jersey at the chest line.

  5. Step 5

Draw your final design on a plain white jersey in pencil. Color the design with fabric markers. Consider having a custom jersey company produce your design (see Resources).

Tips & Warnings
  • Always be aware of copyright laws for any team logos, colors or insignias. Make sure that your school allows custom uniforms before starting.

on 8/7/2009 Track Uniform design is always seems to be an easy one, but its not. It took me more than a month or so to design my runners. Because it gets complicated when you want to go for lighter but more durable cloth it was kinda getting expensive.
Let me know if you know a place where we can purchase nice and cheap uniforms.
