How to Make My Own Ghost Hunter Web Page
Making a ghost hunter web page is a great way to disseminate information and to share experiences and knowledge with others interested in the paranormal. Depending on your goals, a free web page using a standard template may be the way to go. This is a quick and easy way to get started and to share your interests with others. It allows you to experiment with page design and gather resources without the added expense of web site hosting.

Consider a Squidoo lens if your objective is to share information. Squidoo allows you to create a web page by adding text, images, videos and polls to selected modules. Wordpress is also a free blog hosting company that offers attractive templates. Both are easy to use and are designed for those with little experience building a web page.(See resources for links.)

Select the provider that appeals to you. Take the time to learn about their features and how to set up your page before you begin your web page. Knowing how the template or page operates and what features are allowed makes setting up your ghost hunter page easier. Both squidoo and wordpress allow you to preview your page without publishing it. This feature is great for experimenting with layout and design.

3
Choose a name for your site. This is often reflected in the assigned URL and should be something people can easily remember. The name should reflect the contents of the site. Unless you already have a following of readers familiar with your name, choose a name that others would search for to find the information you intend to provide.
-
4
Write a good introduction for your page. This should include keywords that identify your topic. Ghost hunter, ghost, paranormal and investigation may be good keywords for your site. Get right to the point in your first paragraph letting the reader know what your page is about. A good introduction should contain approximately 200 words.

5
Locate other resources that can provide additional information. Squidoo provides a module that allows you to search for blog posts on any chosen topic. Review these and visit the sites to evaluate them for accuracy and educational value. Write a brief description and link to the blog.
-
6
Use Ultimate Research Assistant or Google Reader to locate appropriate sources of information for your web page. (See resources.) Be sure to check the links to evaluate their quality. Linking to high quality sites will build your credibility.
-
7
Search YouTube for ghost hunting videos. Adding videos to your page will draw reader interest and allow you to expand the scope of your page. Browse videos and be sure to watch the whole video before choosing it for your page. There are some good quality videos available, but beware of hoax videos claiming to have filmed paranormal activity or ghosts. Include photos where possible. This enhances the look of your page and breaks up text. Be sure the photos you choose are free of copyrights.
-
8
Include a wide range of information. You can certainly write the text yourself, but if you are unsure of your writing abilities or unfamiliar with writing for an online audience, seek a freelance writer to assist you. Most can provide you with well written material if you provide resources. Expect to pay a reasonable amount for their time and services.

Tips & Warnings
Avoid cutting and pasting of other's work without their permission. This violates copyright laws and is grounds for closing your account with most providers. If you like what someone else has to offer, write a brief overview and link to their work.
