How to Convert DVD to MPEG on Nero
If you have a DVD that you want to be able to edit or use with a portable video player, you will need to convert it to an MPEG file. You can convert a DVD to an MPEG with Nero software. Nero Vision is the specific part of the software that can import your DVD video file so that you can convert it to an MPEG that you can do other things with.

Insert the DVD you want to convert into your computer. Open Nero Vision.

Capture the DVD video file as your input file. Do this by clicking on "Import" and then "Import Disc" to import the DVD file. This will import the DVD video file and take you to the movie screen.

Click "Next" until you get to the "Export Video" screen. Click on the "Export" button and then click "Export Movie" from the "What would you like to do next?" section of the screen.

Select the option to "Export video to file." Use the corresponding drop-down menu to select MPEG as your output format.

Begin the conversion by clicking "Export." You will be able to monitor the conversion progress on the screen. Once the conversion is done, you will get a pop-up to let you know. Click on "OK" to close the pop-up and you can use the new file.
