1
Create a workspace that will allow you to have all your supplies available as you create the flower arrangement. Use a large table as the workspace and have a second table with the flowers, floral tape and hot glue gun ready. Make sure the hot glue gun has enough time to become hot.
-
2
Place the Styrofoam saddle on a table. This will be the base of your flower arrangement. Sit this on the middle of the table, as the arrangement will be wide.

3
Take the roses and cut the stems, leaving at least 3 inches of length on the stems. Cut the carnation stems to be slightly longer than the roses. Once cut, place the flowers in a cup or pot of water, which will allow flowers to live longer. After each flower is trimmed, clean up your workspace, placing all flower trimmings in the trash.

4
Take a piece of floral tape and wrap it around the stem of a flower. To do this, start at the top of the stem, just under the flower petal. Wrap the floral tape around the stem tightly until you reach the end of the stem. Cut the floral tape with scissors and wrap the end of the floral tape around the end of the flower stem. Wrap all the flowers with floral tape.

5
Take the fern stems and insert them, one at a time, into the Styrofoam. This is the base for the flowers and will help to keep the Styrofoam hidden. Don't forget you have flowers to insert also, so the Styrofoam doesn't have to be totally covered with the fern stems. Start in the middle of the Styrofoam and work to the left. Then go back to the middle of the Styrofoam and work to the right. You should be able to start to see a formation of an arrangement, even though it is still bare.
-
6
Take two roses at a time and press the stems into the Styrofoam. Glue them into the middle of the Styrofoam. As you have six roses, do three bunches of two roses. Make the space between the three bunches of roses equal. Make sure each bunch of roses is secure.
-
7
Use the carnations to add depth to the flower arrangement. As the carnations are taller than the roses, use them to fill up empty gaps. Remember you still have to more flowers to add, so don't worry about smaller gaps. Use the carnations for the larger gaps. Press the carnation stem into the Styrofoam and then glue with the glue gun. This will keep the carnations secure.
-
8
Take the baby's breath and add as a filler. Press the baby's breath stems into the Styrofoam base. Continue until the whole arrangement has baby's breath.
-
9
Use the pink filler to fill any gaps left in the saddle floral arrangement. Not only will the pink filler add color, but it will also give the arrangement more depth.
-
10
Take the long stems of greenery and press into the Styrofoam, behind the flowers. To do this, start on the left and right sides, making the arrangement longer. The live greenery will fill any remaining gaps.
