How to Get Music Off a Corrupt iPod
An iPod seems to be one of those modern inventions that make you wonder how you ever lived without it. An iPod plays your favorite tunes, has cool games and even plays movies on some of their models. However, an iPod can become corrupted for several different reasons. When an iPod is corrupted, the owner's first reaction may be one of panic, fearing they have lost all of their music. After all people spend months (if not more) and a lot of money to download their favorite tunes. Thankfully, there is a way to get the music off a corrupted iPod.

Power on you iPod and plug the USB cord into your iPod and then connect to your computer's USB port. If iTunes opens, close or minimize it.

Click on the start button at the bottom of your computer screen. Choose "Computer" when your list of applications and programs pop up.

Click on the icon for your iPod. You will find it under the heading "Devices with Removable Storage." It will most likely say "Your Name IPO" under the icon.

Click on the folder that says "Music." This will open a series of folders that are labeled with letters and numbers. This is where your music is stored.

Open each folder and click on its contents. If iTunes is your default audio player, the songs will automatically be saved to your library. If not, save the song files to your computer.

Restore your iPod or purchase a new one and the transfer your songs onto the iPod.

Tips & Warnings
If your computer says that the individual iPod's files are also corrupted, you can download or purchase software (like iDump) that can pull the songs off of your corrupted iPod.
