If you're looking for a cheap and easy way to get a new look for some boring clothing, iron on deco could be just what you're looking for. You can buy iron on decals at the store, or for a more unique look you can make them yourself.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Image
  • Laser printer
  • Scanner (optional)
  • Scissors (optional)
  • Image editor (Photoshop, Paint.net)
  • T-shirt transfer paper
  • Iron
  • Ironing board
  1. Step 1

Find the image or images you want to make into an iron on. You can look for images online. If you have an image that you want to use that isn't on your computer, scan the image and save it on your computer.

  2. Step 2

Open the image in an image-editing program. If you don't have an imaging-editing program, you can download Paint.net for free.

  3. Step 3

Adjust your image to the size you want your iron on to be. Then flip the image so that it appears backward. In Photoshop, you'd use your program reverse tool to do this. In Paint.net, you'd use the flip horizontally option.

  4. Step 4

Now print the image onto the T-shirt transfer paper and let it dry for about 10 minutes. If you need to, cut your image out.

  5. Step 5

If you're ironing more than one image on an article of clothing, arrange the images on the clothing before you iron them on. Check to make sure you like the positioning of each image before you start to iron them on.

  6. Step 6

Set your iron to its highest setting and let it get hot.

  7. Step 7

Place your image face down on the clothing and iron on the image for two minutes. Use even pressure to get an even transfer. Keep the iron moving at all times.

  8. Step 8

Carefully peel off the paper. Your image will be on the article of clothing.

Tips & Warnings
  • To keep your image from fading, turn the clothing inside out before you wash it.
