Make Dog Treats for Dogs With Allergies

Dogs with allergies can provide a challenge when it comes to feeding them, but there's no need to shell out big bucks for gourmet snacks that fit your dog's nutritional needs. You can make homemade doggy treats with baby food. Because baby food is so pure, you know exactly what's going into your pup's snacks.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3 small jars of baby food (whatever flavors your dog will like)
  • Medium bowl
  • Rolling pin
  • Knife or cookie cutters
  • 1/4 cup milk powder
  • 1/4 cup Cream of Wheat
  • 1 tbsp. of flour
  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • Cookie sheet
  1. Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Step 2

Coat a cookie sheet with nonstick cooking spray.

  3. Step 3

Pour the baby food into the bowl. Add the dry milk and the Cream of Wheat. Mix the ingredients together.

  4. Step 4

Knead the ingredients in the bowl. Create a ball of dough.

  5. Step 5

Toss flour onto your counter or your working surface. Dump the dough onto the floured surface.

  6. Step 6

Use the rolling pin to roll out the dough. It should be about a 1/4-inch thick. Use a knife or cookie cutter to cut shapes out of the dough.

  7. Step 7

Place the pieces of dough on the cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 15 minutes or until the treats are lightly browned. Let the treats cool completely before serving to your pooch.
