We all love to take the perfect photograph. Sometimes we take a photograph that we think is perfect, until we take a closer look and discover something in the scene that detracts from it. Instructions

      • 1

Open Photoshop. Click "File," choose "Open," and open the image you want to work on. In this example, we will remove the duck in the background, leaving the duck in the foreground.

Go to the Tool panel; select the "Clone Stamp" tool. Hold down the "ALT" key, and select an area you want to clone from. The goal here is to select areas of the water near the duck, so that the replaced area will match the background. Now "paint" over the duck. You will see that the area you go over is being replaced by the water you selected. As you work, you will want to reselect new areas to clone from.

Use the "Zoom" tool to look closely at the image, and you may see lines the cloning process produced. This is easily fixed. Go to the "Patch" tool, and then use it to select an area around the "lines."

Drag the selection to another area of the water. You will see the lines smooth and blend in. Now save your image.
