How to Make 'Star Wars' Birthday Invitations
"Star Wars" is a popular birthday party theme, particularly for young boys. A "Star Wars" party begins with the invitation. Because "Star Wars" is such a popular theme, you can buy party supplies with "Star Wars" characters and ships on them, but this can be costly. It's much easier to create your own themed party invitations.

1
Select a free picture from a website or pull your own screen shot from a movie. Look for one that you can use for with a quote with a birthday theme. For instance, with a shot of Yoda you might add the caption, "When 900 years old, you reach ... Look as good, you will not."
-
2
Use photo-editing software to add dialogue balloons or alter images. For example, you could add your child's head in place of Luke Skywalker's or put a birthday cake in Darth Vader's outstretched hand.
-
-
3
Create a blank Word document with minimum margins and two columns.
-
4
Paste two copies of the image on the right-hand column.
-
5
Scroll down until you create a second page in the document. On this page, you can add another quirky "Star Wars"-like quote, such as, "Luke, join me for some dark-chocolate cake." Add the party details and an RSVP phone number.
-
6
Print out the document. Copy the two pages so they are back and front. Each two-sided copy will make two invitations.
-
7
Separate the invitations by cutting between the pictures. Insert them in the invitation envelopes.

Tips & Warnings
If you aren't adept at manipulating images, use the image you want for the front of the invitation and add a "Stars Wars"-type line inside the invitation.
Use free images whenever possible. The easiest way to get the images would be to use screen shots from a DVD of your favorite "Star Wars" movie.
