Varicose veins happen when the blood cannot travel efficiently up to the heart. The blood then develops pools and swells right under the skin surface. Sometimes the veins are just structurally too weak.

2
Vitamin C is a great boost because it maintains healthy, strong walls. When your veins are strong they can resist the pressure without swelling. Vitamin C helps transport collagen and elastin which help the veins be strong.

Vitamin E does prevent blood clots which are common in varicose veins. Vitamin E helps platelets from sticking to walls and making the veins even narrower.

4
Bioflavonois are great because they supposedly reduce capillary weakness. Eat berries and citrus fruits to stock up on bioflavonoids.
-
5
Do eat fiber foods. Eat vegetables, beans, prunes, and flax seeds. When you are constipated you have pressure in your stomach which blocks the flow of blood to your legs. This huge pressure can weaken your veins with time.

6
Lose some weight. All of the unndeccesary body fat makes it harder for the glood to flow around your body. Even if you lose 5 pounds that will make a difference.

7
Get rid of salt. It helps retain water which is a big no no. Too much salt will create a hypertonic solution in your body where water will flow in through osmosis and make your veins swell. This is not good because they may pop and that is when we see the varicose veins.
