Things You'll Need:
- Wooden Screen Door
- Screen door guard
- Paint or Stain to match your screen door
- Varnish
-
Step 1
If your screen on your wooden screen door is already pushed out and stretched out, you may want to consider replacing it before adding your new screen door guard.
-
Step 2
Buy a screen door guard from Cannon Woodworks. These can be purchased online, and they are the only people I know of that make wooden guards for screen doors. They come unfinished with pretty designs on them to compliment the beauty of your screen door.
-
Step 3
Paint your screen door guard the same color as the wood on your door. The protector should already be sanded, but make sure to sand it down if you find it rough before you paint.
-
Step 4
Once the paint on your new screen door protector has dried, mount the guard in the middle of the door where most of the damage was taking place. Make sure to mount the guard on the side people push to open. It should work like a bar you push on a regular glass door.
