Step 1
If you are looking for a certain type of car that is rare you might try looking for websites or forums that that type of car is talked about a lot that have a classified section. ex. if you are looking for a mustang, search for mustangs on google or search for mustang forum
-
Step 2
If you are just looking for a care at a good deal you might check eBay or craigslist.org. On ebay search for ex. Mustang and then on the one of the options you can hit sort by distance. The next thing you can do is do a local search for only cars that are a few hundred miles away. After it does the local search you can take out the keyword mustang and it will pull up all the local cars. You also have an option to check if you want it from a dealer or a private seller.
-
Step 3
On craigslist it is always a good idea to check the smaller citys in the state because sometimes they are over looked and have amazing deals hidden that no one else sees because they think the city is too small.
-
Step 4
You can do searches on autotrader.com or cars.com and many other websites that do online classifieds. Also a lot of dealers have their entire inventory online so you can check around the local car lots before you go looking.
-
Step 5
The next thing to do it call the place or person that you found the car you are interested in and ask them some questions. The good thing about looking online is the most of the time they give the vin, so you can run a carfax report, and they also list most of the options, pictures, and how many miles so you can decide if you are even interested before you call.
-
Step 6
It is always a good idea to check around on the internet to see reviews on the car that you are looking at before you go look at it.
