1
Measure your rib cage at the point where the bottom of your bra would sit. Tighten the tape to where it is comfortable for you and write down the measurement. This is the number part of the bra size. To get the most accurate measurement, let someone else do the measuring.

Measure your cup size by placing the measuring tape over the fullest part of your breast. Tighten the measuring tape only enough to be comfortable. Subtract this measurement from the measurement in Step 1. The difference between the second measurement and the first measurement determines your cup size. A negative measurement is AAA. A difference of 1 inch is an A cup, 2 inches is a B cup, 3 inches is a C cup and so on.

Using the measurements you just took, pick out several different bras to try on. Adjust the shoulder straps as necessary, and try the different bra styles on. A bra should not be uncomfortable to wear and should not require further adjustments.

Try on several different styles of bra. What works for a smaller bra size will not work for a larger cup size. Find the bras that fit your breasts and are comfortable to wear. A bra should offer support but not feel binding or uncomfortable.
