Use a piece of paper, or free online tracker to count how many calories you are eating per day. You must write down everything you eat and the amount of calories. Estimate if you have to.

Exercise for at least 30 minutes a day four times a week. Start small and commit to the minimum first before you increase it. If you try to do too much you will quit.

Maintain a support system. It is important that you have a system of support and accountability. If you don’t have friends or family that will be supportive, join a free online weight loss forum.

Don't give up. Be patient, stick to the steps, and watch the weight fall off.
