Losing weight does not have to be expensive. You do not need to pay for expensive gym memberships, pills, and fancy foods. You can lose weight for free as long as you have dedication and willpower. If you are low on cash but high on motivation, here is how you can lose weight.

    Make up your mind to lose weight. Be determined to stick to your goals no matter what. Know that you will not fail unless you allow yourself to.

    Throw out the idea that there is a magic weight loss secret. There is no certain exercise, pill, drink, or food that is going to make you lose weight. Losing weight is as simple as calories in vs. calories out.

  3. Step 3

  4. Step 4

    Use a free online calculator to see how many calories you should eat per day based upon your current weight and your weight loss goals.

    Use a piece of paper, or free online tracker to count how many calories you are eating per day. You must write down everything you eat and the amount of calories. Estimate if you have to.

  6. Step 6

    Exercise for at least 30 minutes a day four times a week. Start small and commit to the minimum first before you increase it. If you try to do too much you will quit.

  7. Step 7

    Maintain a support system. It is important that you have a system of support and accountability. If you don’t have friends or family that will be supportive, join a free online weight loss forum.

    Don't give up. Be patient, stick to the steps, and watch the weight fall off.

  • Do not starve yourself. If you do not eat enough calories your weight loss will stall because your body will try to hold on to everything you eat.
  • Don’t do the same types of exercise everyday. Your body will get used to it and plateau. Change up your exercise so your body won’t get used to it.
