Things You'll Need:
- Hand saw and miter box or miter saw
- Latex paint and brush (moldings can be sprayed too)
- Power Grab adhesive (by Loctite)
- Elmer's white woodfiller
- Sandpaper (220 or finer)
- Caulking gun and paintable Silicone (Alex plus)
-
Step 1
Painting the moldingsPaint the moldings with a Latex paint (no need to prime as they come paint ready). In this particular case we used black flat paint. Two coats of paint will be enough.
-
Step 2
Measure the moldings and cut it with a hand saw or miter saw to the desired length (using the miter saw you'll get a nice clean cut). It is better to use 60 to 80 teeth blade for fine finishes.
-
Step 3
Apply the adhesive on the special grooves on the back of the moldings.
-
Step 4
Attach the molding to the wall.
-
Step 5
Fill the gaps with wood filler, let it dry and sand it smooth. For the inside corners it is easier to use white paintable silicone.
Using the same paint touch up the joints. -
