Treat Bee Stings Naturally
Treat Bee Stings Naturally

Spring and summer bring with them a seldom welcomed guest: Bees and wasps. Bee stings are never pleasant, but there is a quick and easy way to treat a sting using just the household items you probably already have on hand.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

As quickly as possible after the sting occurs, examine the bee sting carefully and use a clean pair of tweezers to carefully scrape any portion of the stinger that may still be present. A stinger that is left in the flesh can continue to release more venom into the body.

  2. Step 2

Rinse the bee sting with peroxide to disinfect the wound. If you don't have access to peroxide, soap and water works just as well.

  3. Step 3

Using baking soda and water, make a paste and apply it directly to the sting. You can place a damp paper towel over the paste to help keep the baking soda paste in place. Baking soda actually helps to counteract the acidity present in the bee venom.

Tips & Warnings
  • For wasp stings, apply vinegar directly to the site of the sting.
  • Powdered charcoal can also be used to make a paste to apply to the sting.
