Step 1
The most common symptom of a yeast infection in the belly button seems to be having a putrid odor coming from your belly button. If you put your finger in or near your belly button, you can smell it on your fingers. It's a very unusual odor, definitely not something you could identify unless you have had this problem before.
-
Step 2
Some people experience pain inside the belly button. Its not on the surface of the belly button, but more within your belly.
-
Step 3
In more severe cases, you can experience the oozing of pus or bleeding from the belly button. The area may also be red in appearance.
-
Step 4
If you suspect a yeast infection, take a cotton swab dipped in alcohol or hydrogen peroxide and gently wipe out your belly button. Often there will be yeast within in the belly button that you cannot see until you swab it out.
-
Step 5
Some people experience nausea, depending on the severity of the infection.

Step 6
If you suspect a yeast infection, some ways to treat it are: clean with a cotton swab with alcohol or hydrogen peroxide inside the belly button for a few weeks until your symptoms subside, over the counter yeast infection medicine, over the counter diaper rash medicine, or antibiotics from your doctor. After showering, make sure to dry the area well.
