Your children will love to create Masterpieces with this fun 3D puffy sand art. It's quick and easy to make and they will have hours of fun decorating picture frames, jewelry boxes, greeting cards and more.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/3 cup of flour
  • 1/3 cup of water
  • 1/3 cup of salt
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons of Tempera Paint
  • 1/2 tablespoon of sand
  • Plastic Squeeze bottle
  1. Step 1

In a medium bowl, combine all of your dry ingredients. The better they are mixed, the easier step two will be.

  2. Step 2

Add your water and tempera paint. Mix until blended completely.

  3. Step 3

Carefully pour the blended mixture into a plastic squeeze bottle. You will need to mix a batch of 3D puffy paint for each color you want to use. Use a separate squeeze bottle for each color.

  4. Step 4

Take your picture frame (or whatever you are going to decorate) and squeeze your design onto the surface. Lay aside to dry and start on your next creation.

  5. Step 5

Your finished 3D Puffy Sand Painting needs to dry for at least 24 hours (longer if large areas were covered with 3D puffy paint).

  6. Step 6

To make cool effects and textures, put the 3D puffy sand in a cake-decorating bag and use different icing tips. The possibilities are endless!

Tips & Warnings
  • You can draw your design in pencil first if you are more artistic with a pencil. Then just follow the lines with your 3D puffy sand.
  • Decorated picture frames make nice gifts!
  • Personalize cards before sending them with some 3D puffy paint.
  • I plan to add pictures to this over the next few months.
  • Be sure to wash your cake-decorating bags and icing tips well before reusing.
