Connect two computers to one monitor, keyboard & mouse with ps2 connections for about $26. If you prefer USB connections it can be done for about $50. All the cables are included and connected to the switch.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • I prefer IOGEAR Micro KVM Switch
  • Just a few minutes of your time. :)
  1. Step 1

Very simply connect the attatched cables from your KVM Switch to all components as per directions. All of the necessary cables come included with the switch and they are already attached.

  2. Step 2

When all the connections are made to the switch from your monitor, mouse and keyboard and both computers are booted up, the switching between the 2 is as simple as hitting the "Scroll Lock" key on your keyboard twice!

  3. Step 3

There is no software installation to worry about. All of the programming comes completely installed. Everything is ready to go after the cables are connected. I used the PS2 connections because it was half the price for the switch. If you care to go this way instesd of the USB Switch & one of your components is a USB connection a USB-PS2 adapter can be purchused cheaply.

Tips & Warnings
  • Both PS2 & USB Switches work the same. Price is the only factor.
