Are you scared of going to the dentist? Learn how to prepare for your next dentist visit to make it a breeze!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Gather any insurance or medical information necessary. The dentist will want to know if your insurance or medical history has changed. Come prepared with any paperwork you need.

  2. Step 2

If you are scared of the pain, take an aspirin or use a numbing gel before your dental visit. Always inform your dentist that you've done this and don't take aspirin before a major dental surgery, as this can increase your risk of bleeding. (It should be no problem for a routine cleaning)

  3. Step 3

Brush your teeth and floss before your dentist visit. If you've been neglecting this for the last 6 months they will know, but at least give them a clean mouth for the day of your visit.

  4. Step 4

Don't eat before your dentist visit. Your teeth should be clean from step 3, so don't spoil it by eating and getting bits of food stuck in your teeth.

  5. Step 5

Bring a bottle of ice water to your dentist visit. If you still experience pain while your teeth are being cleaned, take a swig of ice water every so often to numb your mouth.
