How to Make a Summer Melon Fruit Salad
Cool off on hot summer days with a melon fruit salad. Watermelon, cantaloupe and honeydew provide lasting refreshment and are full of nutrients. A fruit salad is simple to make and is perfect for summer barbeques and parties. Adding your other favorite fruits makes for a healthy and satisfying dessert or treat any time of day. Things You'll Need
- Knife
- 1 large watermelon
- 1 cantaloupe
- 1 honeydew
- 1 lb. seedless grapes
- 1 carton strawberries
- 1 carton blueberries (optional)
- 1 pineapple (optional)
- Mint leaves
- Lemon juice
- Sugar (optional)
- Medium mixing bowl

Cut watermelon in half length-wise with a sharp serrated knife. Cut a thin piece off the bottom, this will prevent the watermelon from rolling off the table or plate. Scoop out one half of the watermelon with a small spoon, the empty scooped out half will be used for the salad bowl. Cut other half of watermelon into small to medium sized cubes to be used inside the fruit salad.

Chop cantaloupe, honeydew and strawberries into one inch cubes or chunks and empty in a medium mixing bowl. Add whole blueberries and pineapples cubes (optional) and sprinkle with sugar if desired. Mix in watermelon chunks and whole grapes.

Empty all mixed fruit into the hollow half of the watermelon.

Squeeze a few drops of lemon juice over the top of the salad. This will give the fruit a bit more taste. Sprinkle with crushed mint or mint leaves lightly over the top of the salad to taste.
