A delicious stuffed cabbage recipe. First cook rice for a one cup serving. While you are cooking the rice move to your second step. Boil water in a pot, when the water has come to a boil remove pot from range add a head of cabbage into the water and let sit until the leaves from the cabbage peal off easy. As the cabbage is sitting drain your rice. Now in a large bowl take chop meat (2-3 pounds) add one large egg, 1/2 cup of the cooked rice and 2oz can of tomatoe sauce. Mix with clean hands. Now you are ready to stuff your cabbage. Take one of the pealed leaves of cabbage and about a hand full of your stuffing put the stuffing on the cabbage and roll the cabbage at the ends of the cabbage press the sides with your finger tip so you have a nice stuffed cabbage. Continue with the remaining meat and cabbage. After you have stuffed all the cabbage or used all of the meat stuffing. In a large pot place 2 bags of sauerkraut at the bottom of the pot. Lay your stuffef cabbage on top of the sauerkrat. Add about 24oz of tomatoe sauce over the stuffed cabbage covering the stuffed cabbage. Cook on a medium heat for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Until cabbage is nice and soft.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cooked rice
  • Head of cabbage
  • 6-4oz cans tomatoe sauce
  • Large pot
  • 2 bags of sauerkrat
  • 2-3 pounds chop meat
  1. Step 1

    Cook one cup of rice

  2. Step 2

    Boil a pot of water

  3. Step 3

    Place head of cabbage into pot of water

  4. Step 4

    Mix chop meat,1 large egg, cooked rice, and 2oz can of tomatoe sauce

  5. Step 5

    Peal off cabbage leaves

  6. Step 6

    Take a hand full of stuffing and place in cabbage

  7. Step 7

    Roll the stuffing in the cabbage

  8. Step 8

    Place 2 bags of sauerkrat at the bottom of large pot

  9. Step 9

    Add 5 cans of tomatoe sauce or enough tomatoe sauce to cover the stuffed cabbages

  10. Step 10

    Cook for 1-1 1/2 hours on a low to medium flame

Tips & Warnings
  • Continue to check your flame so that you do not burn your cabbage
