Step 1
You may need to clean stains out of the shirt before washing it. For red wine stains, apply a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and hand soap to the shirt and let it sit. Reapply if necessary.

For blood, spit is optimal when the stain is fresh. After that, use hydrogen peroxide.

For ink stains, use water and detergent if it is water-based ink and try rubbing alcohol if it is from a permanent marker or Sharpie.

Coffee stains can be removed by blotting with club soda or using cold water if no soda is available.

Read the fabric tag before washing the garment. If you can wash it, do so on gentle cycle with like colors. If not, hand-wash in the sink.

If it is dry-clean only,then make sure you have gotten the stains out to the best of your ability BEFORE you send it there. Dry-cleaning can't fix everything!

If you need to bleach, do not do so directly. Mix with water and dab on the spot or soak the garment in a solution.

Dry the shirt on gentle, or hang to dry. Then iron using an ironing board!
