Arriving at Typhoon Lagoon you can be overwhelmed by it's size and where to settle your family down. There are many options, but leave yourself some flexibility as the day goes on you may want to seek shade from the hot Florida sunshine.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Beach Towels, Suntan Lotion, Reading material(optional)
  • Coolers are allowed, no glass containers. Get plastic bottles of soda and water. It should be a cooler you can easily carry.

Arrival-GET THERE EARLY! If you haven't bought tickets at your hotel or at a website before you leave, you should think about it. This can waste up to an hour of your time and cost you getting a good spot to camp out for the day. If the park opens at 10AM, get there for 9-9:30, even if you have tickets.

  2. Step 2

Picking your spot-There are lots of chairs around the wave pool and you can also rent cabanas. If you have kids, try to get a spot towards the center of the wave pool, since this is where you will spend most of the day. This is a beach like setting and the wave pool is fun, hang onto those little ones! The familiar fog horn signals it's wave time, if you haven't done this, it is a must!

  3. Step 3

Once you've settled in now is the time to start going on the rides, the lines won't be that long, especially if it is a hot day, get a map online and print it before you go so you can plan your attack. The lines get long and some waits are up to an hour for a 45 second spin around a water slide. The family rafting is a nice ride with big 4-5 person rafts that swirl through the rapids.

  4. Step 4

Some Tips: Be sure to know where everyone is, this is a large facility and kids can get disoriented easily. If you stay near the wave pool and have small children, get a spot so you can see the wave pool, some adults and teens do get out of hand. Make a landmark like a bright shirt that is hanging off the back of a chair for kids to find.
Later in the afternoon the park usually slows down and the lines get shorter, duting lunch this is also an occurance as well.

  5. Step 5

Eating: There is deli that I have had several times there, the prices aren't that bad, but plan on at least 8-10 dollars per person for lunch. There is also a burger and chicken stand that has decent food too. There is also the ice cream sand bucket, if you love ice cream, you'll love this, it is enough for 4, enjoy.

Tips & Warnings
  • Little ones can get knocked over easily in the wave pool, adults are suggested to join them
  • Getting there early allow you to get a spot where some shade will be welcome by mid-late afternoon.
  • Re-apply suntan lotion regularly
  • Leave the valuables at home, we have visited here over a dozen times and never had we had a penny taken, just avoid it though and bring enough for the day.
  • Bring a change of clothes, you can change there and go to Downtown Disney which is right outside the exit.
