Things You'll Need:
- Pen and Paper
- Computer
- Sources to share testimony
-
Step 1
Open BibleBE A WITNESS:
Your personal Christian testimony is an important part of all of us. Look what it says in the Bible. Come on get it off the shelf and read what it says in Revelation.
Rev. 12:10
Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: "Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.
In Acts 9 God got Saul's attention which led to his conversion into Paul. And Paul became a powerful witness. He wrote many chapters in the Bible.
Who's Testimony did you hear that helped turn your life around? Be a witness and share your testimony. -
Step 2
Pen and PaperGIVE IT GREAT THOUGHT:
Before writing your personal Christian testimony give it great thought. You want to be able to share how your life was before you met Jesus. Be open and honest, tell them what your own situation was like, the problems you were having. You want to tell how you were converted and how your life has changed and is still changing.
When you start writing remember 3 things; before, how and since! -
Step 3
Church-y wordsAVOID CHURCH-Y WORDS:
You don't want to push anyone away so avoid church-y sounding words. Your goal is to lift and encourage to win a spiritual battle that is raging. It is a spiritual battle. Read Ephesians 6:12.
I've read words to avoid are: born again, saved, lost, gospel, sin and repent.
Replace with; spiritual birth/renewal, found hope for life and rescued, heading wrong direction and had no hope, God's message to man and good news about Jesus Christ, disobedience to God and rejecting God, admit you were wrong and turned away from what you were doing. -
Step 4
Write your testimonySHARE YOUR TESTIMONY:
Now that you've written your personal Christian testimony what are you going to do with it?
*There is a man at church that has made a newsletter with pictures and his testimony and he hands it out to people he meets. It is powerful. He is not shy in speaking his testimony either.
*Contact your local newspaper and have them put it in. I know the pastor from our last church writes a weekly column and I think it's free. Even if it's not free for some putting their written testimony in the newspaper is easier that talking to people. However you decide, remember your goal is to be a good witness while sharing your personal Christian testimony.
