The instruction manual is a bit vague on how to use the satin smooth starter kit, so I have put together this step-by-step procedure based on actually using the products myself.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Satin Smooth Starter Waxing Kit
  • A sheet of aluminum foil
  • Cotton pads (not cotton balls)
  • Latex or latex-free gloves (optional)
  1. Step 1

When you first get your kit you will want to remove the plastic lid from the wax warmer. Some people prefer to line their warmer with a sheet of aluminum foil to prevent the wax from dripping down in between the actual wax container and the warmer unit.

  2. Step 2

Open the lid to your wax container. Don't worry about trying to preserve the lid or the wax that has collected on the lid because you will just make a huge mess trying to scrap the excess back into the container. Just toss the disposable lid out.

  3. Step 3

You should notice the wax container is made of an aluminum material; this allows you to drop the wax container into the wax warmer. DO NOT pour the wax directly into the wax warmer itself. The idea here is to be able to lift out the container after it has cooled so that you can easily drop in a container with a different type of wax if needed later. If you pour the wax directly into the warmer you won't be able to clean out the warmer easily.

  4. Step 4

Turn on your wax warmer unit to the desired temperature. Depending on room temperature; you may need to raise/lower the temperature setting. I find that placing it on high will allow the wax to heat up within 20-30 minutes. You do not need to have the warmer lid on your wax while it is heating up. The lid is for storage later.

  5. Step 5

Stir the wax every 5 minutes or so using a wooden applicator from your kit. Continue to stir the wax until it is completely melted through.

  6. Step 6

Prep the area to be waxed by taking a cotton pad and the satin Smooth Skin Preparation Cleanser. This not only cleans the area by removing dirt and oil but it also opens the pores allowing the hair follicle to stand more upright and allows for an easier removal.

  7. Step 7

Get Ready to wax! Take your wooden applicator and dip it into the warm wax, scraping off the wax from the underside of the applicator onto the side of the wax container to prevent dripping too much wax all over the place. Spread a very thin layer of the wax onto the skin in the same direction as the hair growth.

  8. Step 8

Take one of your wax strips from the kit and place it over the wax. press firmly over the waxed area with the strip and smooth out the wax strip. Pull the skin taut and remove the wax strip very quickly in the opposite direction of the hair growth. If some hair remains you can quickly place the same wax strip over the area and repeat the the same smoothing of the wax strip technique and removal.

  9. Step 9

Once you have finished waxing you will want to take a clean cotton pad or a wax strip and pour some of the Satin Smooth Wax Residue remover onto it. Now wipe away any wax residue on the skin. It should come off easily with this product.

  10. Step 10

Lastly you will apply the Satin Smooth Aloe Skin Soother onto the area you just removed the hair from followed by the Satin Smooth Nourisher lotion. These will help cool the skin and bring the pH balance back into the skin too.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use the gloves if you are waxing someone other than yourself. It also makes easier clean up for yourself.
