Step 1
When your work has been plagiarized, contact the person involved. When you have discovered that someone has plagiarized your online content, send an e-mail notifying the offender that you are the author and ask that they remove it.
-
Step 2
When your work has been plagiarized, get in touch with the hosting company. If after contacting the plagiarist, they do not comply, contact the company hosting the website of the plagiarist. Verify the time and site your article was first published and send it with your complaint.
-
Step 3
When your work has been plagiarized, notify the internet advertisers of the offending site. Internet advertisers like anyone else want to maintain a credibility. If they can verify that the site they are advertising on contains plagiarized work, the hope is that they will pull their ads and that person can not make money off your writing.
-
Step 4
When your work has been plagiarized, notify Google and file a complaint. Google has a strict policy against plagiarism. You will have to write or fax Google your complaint. Google will remove any plagiarized content and repeat offenders will have their accounts terminated.
