Converting MP3 files to WAV files allows you to edit them or make the file more compatible with other kinds of software. It also allows you to burn them to a CD for playback in conventional stereo systems.

  1. Step 1
    Get Cdex
    Get Cdex

    Download and install the free software called CDex from Download.com. This program allows you to convert MP3s to WAV files. The software is completely free and contains no adware or spyware.

  2. Step 2

    Open the program and click on the Convert menu. Go down and select "Convert Compressed Audio Files to WAV Files". A new box will appear. Click on the image to the side to enlarge it.

  3. Step 3
    Choose files
    Choose files

    When the new box opens, choose the directory where you keep your MP3s and then select which ones you want to convert by clicking on them in the box below. You can select one, all, or a few by holding down the control button on your keyboard. Once you've selected all the files you want, simply click Convert and you're done!
