If you believe that your lardlord is not living up to their obligations, then it may be time to bring the matter to court. You should always try to settle any disputes you have directly with the landlord before considering a legal means.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Consult an attorney if you believe your Landlord has breached your lease agreement, has discriminated against you or has committed illegal violations.

  2. Step 2

get as much evidence as you can to help out your case. make copies of your rental agreement and any pertinent receipts, take photos if necessary, just make sure you are prepared.

  3. Step 3

Let your attorney know - What the situation is that got you to this point - What actions you have taken to have this matter resolved - What you would like the ultimate outcome to be. Your attorney should let you know if you have any grounds to pursue this matter or if you are barking up the wrong tree.

  4. Step 4

Have your attorney make a call to your landlord. This might just be enough to scare him/her into changing their attitude.

  5. Step 5

If nothing else work, then retain the attorney to pursue legal action. Just make sure you know up front all costs that will be involved in the matter
