Make a New Wrist Stap for Your Small Digital Camera

My son recently cut the wrist strap on my small digital camera. Prior to that, I wasn’t even aware I used the strap. Now, I find myself almost dropping my camera every time I pick it up. I put together a quick no-sew strap that is durable and super easy to assemble, for less than $1.50!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cat collar
  • Lanyard hook
  1. Step 1

Cut away any remaining strap from your camera.

  2. Step 2

Purchase a cat collar. Be sure to get one that has the old-fashioned metal connectors. Most collars now days have a plastic break-away fastener to keep the pet from becoming choked if they get caught. Great for cat, not so great for camera.

Walmart has some $1 ones that work great in their pet department. Not hanging up with other leashes and collars, but displayed where food is stored.

  3. Step 3

Remove any unnecessary things from collar. It is common to have bells or other decorative items sewn to the collar.

  4. Step 4

Attach the lanyard hook to the hoop on your digital camera.

  5. Step 5

Thread the collar through the lanyard hook and fasten. You can adjust the wrist band by adjusting the end of the collar.
