Do you Twitter? Have you even heard of it? Twitter is a great new online tool to promote your business and keep your clients updated. And the kids love it, like an easier social networking site where you can just tell people what you are doing at that moment. So how can it help your business? Here are a few ideas to use Twitter to connect with your customers and promote your business.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Twitter your status. Tell them that the store is busy, the office is swamped, an appointment just opened for 4pm to the first caller. What a great way for your customers to know if it is a busy time or there is time for you to meet with them. It is also great for emergency situations. You can provide up to date parking information, emergency weather closure information, or any details about what is happening right now. Twitter can provide a quick way to keep your customers informed.

  2. Step 2

Twitter to promote your sales and specials. Post your new sales, specials or discounts. Add a a link to your website with coupons or sign up information for email newsletter blasts. Twitter can help you kick start that marketing campaign that you have been putting off. Maybe you are a service provider and think this won't work, try posting a referral promotion and get results.

  3. Step 3

Promote your Twitter. Don't forget that people won't know you Twitter unless you tell them. Print it on your receipts, put a sign by your register, tell about with word of mouth. Take out a small ad in your local paper. Remember, Twitter is free so that ad is your only cost to jumpstart your marketing plan.
